James Legendforge is an epic melodic rock and power metal storytelling project created by UK songwriter 
and lyricist James Spreadbury.

Born from a lifelong passion for music, fantasy, history, mythology and storytelling, James Legendforge is a 
world where powerful melodies, cinematic arrangements and imaginative narratives come together to 
create songs that feel larger than life. The project draws inspiration from classic power metal, symphonic 
metal and melodic hard rock, but its true identity lies in the ideas and emotions beneath every story.

The name Legendforge reflects the heart of the project: a place where stories, characters, experiences and 
emotions are forged into power/melodic metal music. Just as metal is shaped through heat, skill and perseverance, each song begins with my original lyrics & concepts, then grows into a fully realised musical journey built on melody, 
atmosphere and dramatic momentum.

Although many songs are set against backdrops of fantasy, folklore, mythology or history, feelings or personal experience, the themes are deeply human. Courage, identity, fear, destiny, self-belief, hope and personal choice recur throughout the 
music. Whether confronting inner demons, standing against persecution, embarking on an impossible quest 
or navigating uncertainty, the characters face struggles that reach beyond their fictional worlds.

The debut album, The Witchfinder's Flame, brings together ten individual stories connected by a shared 
emotional and thematic thread. Rather than following one linear narrative, the album moves between 
historical darkness, fantasy adventure, psychological conflict, protest, reflection and emotionally charged 
power balladry, all held together by a common atmosphere of cinematic scale and melodic power.

Musically, James Legendforge draws inspiration from Helloween, Avantasia, Rhapsody, Gama Ray, Luca Turilli, Stratovarious and Dionysus, combining soaring melodies, driving guitars, orchestral textures, memorable choruses and dramatic arrangements into a distinctive wall-of-sound approach. The goal is not simply to sound heavy and melodic, but to create songs that transport the listener, stay in the memory and make every story feel vivid.

Every lyric, concept, storyline and creative vision originates with James, along with vocal source recordings. Modern AI technology supports the arrangement and production process, helping to realise ambitious, layered compositions 
while remaining under clear human creative direction. The technology is part of the toolkit, not the source of 
the artistic identity.
