Caspar McCloud Band Releases Live Album ‘Stay Awake America’

The Caspar McCloud Band are back with their new album, ‘Stay Awake America‘, recorded live on tour. The 16-song album is available now from CasparMcCloudMusic.com and features tracks from the group’s recent albums ‘Beyond Magnificent‘, ‘Immortality‘, ‘Back To Back‘ and ‘Black Swan‘ recorded last year on tour.

“We have a live album coming out called ‘Stay Awake America’ that we recorded on the Stay Awake America Tour and after that we have another band album of new original songs scheduled for 2026”, explained Caspar McCloud.

Discussing the title track in a recent interview with Louder Than The Music, Caspar said, “The title itself, ‘Stay Awake America,’ serves as a clarion call to our moral and spiritual consciousness. It echoes the words of the Lord Jesus when he asked his disciples to stay awake and pray during his darkest hour, as he faced the cross. What’s poignant about that moment in scripture is the disappointment he felt when his disciples, his closest friends fell asleep. It’s a powerful reminder that in times of great turmoil and challenge, we need to remain vigilant and engaged. In the same way, I believe we must stay awake in our current societal climate, where distractions and false narratives can easily lead us astray.”

Vince SanFilippo has been an active player in Chicago’s vibrant music scene for more than 30 years. He is known as a vocalist and guitarist steeped in the history of Rock n’ Roll; a tireless supporter of the city’s underground scene; a Chicago Reader-nominated “Best Venue Bartender” and is perhaps best-known as the leader of The Artist Formally Known as Vince Band, or “TAFKAVince Band” for the sake of brevity.

For many years, he has been more focused on performing in full band Rock N Roll mode than as a solo singer-songwriter but it is time again for both sides to share the spotlight. While continuing to book TAFKAVince Band shows, he is about to release his new solo EP, From The Windows of the Train. New, re-imagined versions of older songs that have never been recorded. The songs have been played live as duets with band mate Lauren, and solo. For this, the approach was with a studio mentality of giving them more atmosphere and not playing them as simple acoustic guitar/voice arrangements. Locked up in his studio, Vince produced, recorded and mixed the EP ad well as played all instruments on the track (guitar, bass,keyboards, shaker, harmonica, all vocals). Since the early 1980’s Terri Lynn Owens has performed with some of the most prestige’s Twin Cites bands including The Babysitters, Flamin’ Oh’s, Tetes Noir, Sonicbouquet & The April Fools.

Terri Lynn Owens is a veteran of The Minneapolis music scene. Taylor Clarik of the Dispatch included Terri as one of the best guitar players in the Twin Cities citing her work in THE APRIL FOOLS. In the early 1980’s Terri toured extensively with THE BABYSITTERS fronted by Roxxy Hall followed by a five year stint in THE FLAMIN’ OH’s, fronted by Robert Wilkinson. The band recorded two LP’s for Blackberry Way Records including the Billboard recommended record “Paint the Sky”. The title track (Composed by Terri & Robert) garnered extensive airplay on FM stations in Minneapolis as well as reginal airplay in the five state area and beyond. The song “Skinny Legs” has been placed in the Steven Soderberg produced “Red Oaks” for Amazon TV. Next up Terri joined Rounder Records recording artists TETES NOIRES for a tour of the east coast that kicked off at the infamous World Theatre in ST Paul and included dates at The Knitting Factory in NY and Maxwells in Hoboken, NJ. In 1988 TETES NOIRES lead singer Camille Gage directed a father’s day performance at The Walker Art Center that included Terri’s song “Oh Daddy” later released on MICHAEL OWENS CD The Devil’s Doorway. In 1989 Jimmy Jam hosted a New Year’s Eve show on TPT Channel 2 TV in Mpls. THE DAUGHTERS OF INVENTION, featuring Camille Gage and Terri Owens both late of TETES NOIRES, closed out the show with their original composition “BRAVE HAPPY NEW YEAR.” The song was recorded and released by TRUANT LOVERS on Blackberry Way in 2012. She joined the power pop band SONICBOUQUET featuring songwriter extraordinaire Robert Langhorst. The band released several records on Blackberry Way and opened for Tommy Keene at First Avenues 7th Street Entry. Next up was a stint in AMERICAN HOUSEWIFE featured at The Basilica Block Party followed by several years and two CD’s released by Blackberry Way recording artists THE APRIL FOOLS. Along with husband Michael Owens she composed “CANDY CANE GIRL” garnering airplay around the world. Terri plays on numerous recordings as a session musician including Mandolin on The Leatherwoods release for Peter Jesperson’s Twin/Tone Records offshoot Medium Cool that featured Tim O’Reagan currently with THE JAYHAWKS. She also contributed vocals on THE IDLE STRANDS “She’s Got Everything” that was placed in the ABC TV show Wicked City.
