Award Winning Artist Debbie Hennessey Releases Good As Gone Music Video
Award Winning Artist Debbie Hennessey has just released her first music video for the song Good As Gone, from her new CD of the same name. Directed by Zach Jordan of Macatawa Pictures, the video was shot entirely in High Definition over two days and two locations. The video is a cinematic performance piece that showcases Hennessey’s distinct vocals and engaging personality.
Day 1 was shot at Woodcliff Studio, where the entire Good As Gone cd was recorded. The video starts here and shows Hennessey close-up and interacting with the audience through the camera. Day 2 was shot in Llano, CA in the High Desert northeast of Los Angeles. With the desert in the foreground and the snow covered mountains in the background the scenery is one of rugged beauty and open spaces. Here Director of Photography Glenn Sauber uses abandoned buildings, open spaces and endless roads to striking effect, shooting Hennessey in the various settings and capturing the energy of one of her live performances.

The song Good As Gone was written by Mark Luna and Richard Wold and is a powerful song about self-realization and finding the strength to follow your dreams. The music grabs you from the first beat and with an undeniably hooky melody stays with you long after the last note. The video truly captures the emotion of this powerful and uplifting song.

The Worderer wastes no time with an intro that beckons the listener to be a part of his journey.This drops into the title track itself,an excellent identity song especially for the first time listener intrigued by The Worderer's peculiar accent and flow.Such intrigue is smoothly assuaged as one is taken through a vividly detailed tour of his roots and culture with lines like..'I'm from Barbados, that's in the West Indies, we got the tropical breeze and the hot honies'...'I used to play cricket and pitch marbles for fun'...'on the Golden Rock block is where I started my dream'. The West Indian vocal sits snugly on top of the hip hop grooves and is comfortable on the ear.However,the flow really takes off on the very slick and catchy R&B hip-hop production of 'Droppin'Heat'.Quixotic, arguably one of the best kept secrets in the mecca of hip-hop producers, whips up a clever sampling of some old Diana Ross and Marvin Gaye while The Worderer locks in with his unique brand of delivery.Lines like'mistakes never made the man and shouldn't break the man,to make this work I had to work a plan,stay focused and forget the grands,that's why I connect with the fans..' are bound to resonate well with even the most simplistic of listeners. 'Step to me' has stuck with the classic 4/4 flow but with such a driving track and groovy hook,this one could well receive heavy club rotation.'Grouch House' injects some quirky comic relief with some graphic story telling in a purposefully old school flavor. Drums were excellent as well, with a tight punchy sound and strong performance. Loved the interjections of the Leslie sounding guitar. The guitars worked very well in a minimalist way.

The viola (?) added a cool touch to the arrangement, as did the fiddle later. The electronic bleeps were another fun touch. I wasn't quite sure about the breakdown section near the end, which seemed to lose some steam & was happy when the guitars reentered. Great stuff, Valery! No lyrics involved. There were some spoken bits near the end but I couldn't tell what they were saying.
