Grupe Therapy

Grupe Therapy

First of all... we would like to thank everyone that ever came out to listen to Grupe Therapy.

With that said, due to life in general we've decided to disband. We had a great run and enjoyed every show we played and everyone that came to the shows.

We'll try to keep our MySpace site up to date but if we should happen to lose it, you can always check out our music here at LocalBandz.Com.

Jennifer Brantley

Jennifer Brantley

Americana, country/rocker Jennifer Brantley and her band will be appearing at the 2008 International Folk Alliance in Memphis TN Feb 21 at the Memphis Marriot Hotel.

With her new CD Break Down in rotation on over 153 radio stations and 20,000 fans on her Myspace page, Brantley is optimistic about the future. In addition, one of her songs recently reached # 6 on New Music Weekly’s Up and Coming country radio charts. The CD also received a lot of airplay on Americana stations, as well.

It was just three years ago when producer Bil VornDick, (Alison Kraus, Bela Fleck, Ralph Stanley)- a man with Numerous Grammy credits to his name- caught Jennifer’s show at a Nashville club. The two met a couple of times and began working on the CD which was released Sept 4.

Jennifer's music spins songs of about the rural South, dysfunctional relatives, tales of wayward preachers, lost love and hope. Though Jennifer’s music can mainly be classified as Americana and Country/rock, she draws from a lot of different influences. Traces of The Beatles, The Stones, Carol King and Emmylou Harris, Tift Merritt even The Byrds can be heard in Jennifer's work. She even plays a 12 string electric guitar on stage.

Jennifer's last CD did well on the Internet charts. She had a #1 song on Garageband.com and several chart toppers on Mp3.com as well. She also got some radio play. Her song 'Did It for You' even found its way overseas. "Songs come and go, but the response from this song, especially in our New Zealand affiliates is unheard of" says Program Director Mark Baum. Baum's Green Mountain Music Productions has been playing the song on one of its syndicated radio shows. The song also won an Honorable Mention Award from Billboard's World Song Contest.

The Vibesetters

Together since 2004, The VibeSetters have released 2 full length albums and are just completing

work on their third and most captivating record yet for Buddha Studio Recordings. The new CD

release, Peace for all Beings, will be available to radio and the press on September 9th, 2007.

The album will also be available for download through internet sites CDBaby.com, Soundclick.com and

Garageband.com. The first single off the CD will be the lead track "Walk Strong", with lyrics that

explore making peace happen within ourselves so that we may calm the world.

The VibeSetters consider themselves to be a present day rock n' reggae jazzfunk improvisational experiment in classic songwriting and music composition for the positive upliftment of universal suffering and injustice.

Folks who have experienced The VibeSetters music don't necessarily agree and had the following to say when asked the question:

"What type of music do The VibeSetters play?"

_________________________________________

more rock or alternative influence rather than reggae

a weird mix of jam stuff and rock and reggae. I do not know if I would call it reggae

rasta deadhead or country reggae

More pop then reggae

rock/ska/blues

not typically reggae but with a nice flow.

Hip-Hop

didn't make me think of Reggae, but more old rock

Not sure about the style, can't really classify them

Rocksy

remindes me of some old Zeppelin riffs

Almost not reggae

the soul of this music is rock, southern rock influenced by a west coast rock blues approach

sounds like something by Sublime

not really reggae

more rocky than reggae

not really reggae in my book

reminds me of Santana. Very groovy!

I like their dynamics...a subtle vibe is in the air

new Reggae?

Mellow vibes

kind of bluesy

its just like chill music

you guys can definitely jam!!

Nice jazz feeling

Good for those mellowed out kind

cool jazzy blues

not overboard on the happy side and not too mellow either

Shoegazey Jazzy Reggae Jam

Me gustó el estilo y rhythm

Very textural..infectious...very cool

not really reggae to me..but would fit into several categories..blues,pop,funk cause of its chilled nature

Got the Latin vibe happening

hypnotic groove

groove rock

I haven't heard stuff like this since Steely Dan or old Santana. An urban feel. The rhythms away you like a long lost lover and holds you there till the end

Santana meets The Dead

a spice of reggae

Terramara

Terramara

(November 2008) MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA.

Terramara has released its third full-length album: Dust & Fiction.

Once described as the "second coming of Steely Dan", the new recording finds the group moving in a new direction. The band has teamed up with Producer Jon Herchert to assemble a more guitar-driven album more evocative of Coldplay, XTC, and the Beatles. Melodic songwriting meets quirky, sonically adventurous production.

While retaining much of Terramara's signature sound: piano-based pop songs with rich harmonies and clever lyrics, this new collection of powerpop gems shimmers with layered guitars, and shades of ambient and electronic sounds in the mix. As one reviewer said, "Simultaneously intelligent and incredibly catchy, they might just single-handedly save pop music" (Larry Kolota, Kinesiscd.com).

The new album has already garnered airplay nationwide on XM Radio and been featured on local radio (Cities 97) and TV (KARE 11).

Terramara recently celebrated the release with a massive show at Trocaderos nightclub in Minneapolis. The show featuring a 12-piece ensemble with a four-piece horn section, back-up singers, and additional keyboards and guitars to bring the audience the full sonic variety embodied on the new recording.

Minneapolis-based Terramara is the brainchild of singer/songwriter Rob Meany who formed the group in 1998. The band has won numerous awards for songwriting and performance over its 10-year career.
