Luna

LUNA is fronted by Teresa Prince on acoustic guitar and vocals. Her music has been described as sounding a bit like Lucinda Williams while others have said it sounded like Loretta Lynn fronting up the Heartbreakers.

I am a residing in New York, USA. I have been have been living here for a few years, but
I was born in the Caribbean. I have been writing songs since the mid-eighties. The
first song I wrote is title “Samantha’s Song” this is a Jazz, when the musician did the demo
he produce it as a Western with a Bluegrass sound. I wanted to get the feel of show biz,
so, I became a member a Calypso youth group. We did a lot of tours and shows. I had the
opportunity of interacting with a lot of seniors in the Soca world. I wrote a few Calypso and
Soca, but, I have not done any recordings in that area Back in that period we did live
performances.

I did a lot of demo recordings while I am here in the USA. I am taking this big step of singing
because I think it is time for my work to reach the public. I write any style of music, it just
depends on the inspirations at the moment. I really love Reggae music and it has been a big
inspiration in my life since I was a child. I hope that one day I would be able to produce an
album in the genre of Reggae. I love music whether it is World, Jazz or Classical and others,
I think music is the explanation of love and the emotions of life around me, and it brings out in
many ways the stories in our daily lives. I thank you for listing to me.

My work and sound varies; this is because I like different styles in music. So, the feeling some times creates a variety.

Ecotone Refugees

Ecotone Refugees

In The Year 2008 Somewhere deep in cyberspace a musical ecotone was formed. This was due to the over population of bands that tried to fit into narrow genres such as goth, emo, metal, or indie rock. This has created a major refugee crisis consisting of musicians and fans who exist outside of a predetermined cookie cutter category. Thus the refugees are forced to enjoy music without a fashion trend, target audience or even a B.S. backstory. UTTER TRAGEDY!

Where can these Ecotone Refugees be found?

Deep in Brooklyn in their hideout above a bar, rocking out or performing live at various locations.

What should u do if you're lost in this ecotone?

Enjoy cool tunes and pick up any instrument even an air guitar.

This information will explode in thirty seconds.

Ecotone Refugees is:
Johnny Young - vocals, guitar, keys
David Weise - vocals, bass
Michael Galante - drums
Sean Eganz - guitar

STEWART FRANCKE ALIVE AND UNPLUGGED AT THE ARK

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Live acoustic album to be released through Burnside Distribution on January 20, 2009.

Detroit— Stewart Francke, one of Michigan’s favorite sons, will release Stewart Francke Alive and Unplugged at The Ark, his tenth album, in November. Recorded in August 2003, the song lineup will feature nine of Francke’s hits done in a soulful, acoustic style, including “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” and “Upon Seeing Simone.”

The new album follows 2006's Motor City Serenade, released by London’s Zane Records. A live concert sponsored by 94.7 WCSX on November 8 at the Village Players Theater in Birmingham will celebrate the release of the record. The concert will begin at 8pm; tickets are available at the VP box office or at www.stewartfrancke.com

Stewart Francke Live and Unplugged at The Ark features several of Detroit’s finest musicians, including guitarist Robert Tye, pianist Christopher Plansker, and vocalists Barbara Payton and Jeanne Staels. The Regular Boys Horn Section is also featured on a couple songs. The night was recorded by Detroit veteran engineer Roscoe White and mixed by Jim Kissling at Tempermill.

Francke is nearly finished with a new studio album as well, to be released in the Spring of 2009. “I’d actually forgotten about the live recording...I found the rough mixes (of this live stuff) while I was writing and recording all these new things,” Francke says. “And the audience that night in Ann Arbor was off the hook, so there’s a lot of humor, a lot of joy–and a ton of energy–even though the presentation was not with the big, rockin’ band. I was struck by how well the band at that time addressed the subtleties of the songs and gave the lyrics room. So I really thought fans of my music would love these interpretations of songs they already know and hopefully love.”

Track Listing:
American Twilights
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
For Want Of A Nail
The Judas Kiss
Peace Like A River
House Of Lights
Upon Seeing Simone
Let’s Get It On

Stewart Francke's music sounds as if Jackson and James Brown were brothers. Detroit blue-eyed soul.
